Eye Conditions We Treat & How We Support Your Pet
Eye problems can progress quickly, so our ophthalmology team focuses on early detection, targeted treatment, and supportive care designed to protect your pet’s comfort and preserve their vision. When surgery is recommended, our team provides clear guidance, advanced techniques, and coordinated care every step of the way. We evaluate and treat a wide range of medical and surgical eye conditions, including:
Advanced Ophthalmic Diagnostics for Clear Answers
Our advanced, in-house ophthalmic diagnostics allow us to evaluate eye conditions quickly, accurately, and with minimal stress for your pet. We work closely with referring veterinarians to provide collaborative ophthalmic care, clear communication, and timely updates throughout treatment.
-
A slit-lamp exam allows us to evaluate your pet’s eyes at high magnification, giving us a detailed look at the cornea, lens, conjunctiva, and eyelids. This tool helps us detect subtle abnormalities early so we can create precise, targeted treatment plans before issues progress.
-
Tonometry measures the pressure inside the eye and is essential for diagnosing and managing glaucoma or uveitis. Quick and gentle, this test provides immediate insight into whether your pet is experiencing elevated or low pressure that may require urgent intervention.
-
When the inside of the eye cannot be seen clearly such as in cases of cataracts, bleeding, or trauma ultrasound imaging gives us a detailed look at internal structures. This painless test helps us evaluate retinal attachment, tumors, lens stability, and other serious conditions.
-
Using specialized instruments, we examine the retina, optic nerve, and interior structures at the back of the eye. These tools allow us to diagnose conditions like retinal detachment, inflammation, or hereditary retinal disease and guide long-term monitoring and treatment.
-
This test measures your pet’s natural tear production to diagnose conditions like dry eye (KCS). Identifying tear deficiencies early helps us prevent chronic irritation, protect the cornea, and support your pet’s comfort with customized treatment plans.
-
Our in-house laboratory allows us to perform bloodwork, cytology, and infectious disease tests quickly when eye issues may be linked to systemic illness. Fast results mean faster diagnosis and more effective treatment planning for complex or urgent cases.
-
Fluorescein dye highlights scratches, ulcers, and other injuries on the cornea that may not be visible to the naked eye. This simple, noninvasive test helps us assess the severity of damage and determine the most effective treatment to protect your pet’s vision.
